Delicately crafted and steeped in tradition, our Hungarian “töltött káposzta” features tender cabbage leaves filled with a refined blend of seasoned pork, rice, and aromatic spices. Each roll is gently braised in a velvety, paprika-kissed tomato sauce, allowing the flavours to harmonize into a rich, savoury depth. Served with a touch of sour cream, this timeless dish offers an elegant taste of Hungary’s culinary heritage—comforting, flavourful, and truly unforgettable.

Medieval Feast at Over the Hill Orchards

Drawing on authentic, old-fashioned flavours and gourmet culinary techniques, Retro Food Lumsden Catering offers unique Medieval Nights at the scenic Over the Hill Orchard. Our chefs masterfully craft lavish, multi-course feasts that transport guests back to a bygone era.

The event begins on the outdoor patio (weather permitting) overlooking the beautiful valley, where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a non-alcoholic beverage. Attendees are seated indoors beside large picture windows where Sylvia Kreutzer briefly discusses the history of the orchard and introduces the chef(s) for the evening.
Between courses, a 30-minute tour of the orchard is offered (weather permitting). Supper begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends around 9 p.m.

Enjoy a warm, communal experience where dishes are served to share. Platters are placed at the center of the table, allowing everyone to help themselves and enjoy a variety of flavours together. - Costumes are welcome
